The Idaho Falls Arts Council (IFAC) has supported the local, national, and international arts since 1990 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Now consisting of four separate venues from the ARTitorium, Civic Center, Colonial Theater, and Willard Arts Center, their performances, community events, and exhibitions provide the surrounding communities an experience within the arts they won’t soon forget.

To feature their annual events and stunning exhibitions unlike any site we’ve developed before, our development team—Kyle Richards, Jesse Hillman, and Adam Humphreys—dove head-first into custom coding elements to create a fully customized “mega-nav” to display upcoming performances, current exhibitions, and community events in a user-friendly and intuitive format. Adding to the custom design, their creation of filterable genres in one navigable calendar of events provides users a selection between 14 categories to simultaneously view current and upcoming events, exhibitions, and performances among any genre in any of their five local venues.

With so much content migration from their old site to the new, we divided content into four major categories: Shows, Venues, About, and Support. Each of these navigation items activate mega navigation structures that house ALL of their important information pertinent to each category. Each of our departments communicated with the executives and staff members from IFAC to collaboratively mold this site into an optimal experience and beautiful appearance for years to come.

Our Content Lead, Casey Soelberg, conducted on-site video and photoshoots of the historic Colonial Theater in an after-hours exposé. The video is now featured on the homepage take-over banner for a jaw-dropping representation of the intimate details throughout the facility. In addition to new media, Casey migrated dozens of pages of content to elevate the design and layout with user-friendly components throughout the site.

Kyle Richards implemented his talented eye-for-design to create brand-specific color gradients, new vector logos, font pairings (his specialty), and the now infamous “A-Squiggle” associated with IFAC. Look throughout their new site to see this icon on any “Arts Council Presents” event or exhibition—easily toggled in the content management system (CMS) for any future events thanks to our development team.

We had all hands on deck for this above and beyond project to meet the unwavering September deadline for users to rent facilities, purchase tickets, and view upcoming events for the 2021 - 2022 season. After the extensive work put into this project, we’ve guaranteed the Arts Council a website they can easily update and evolve with the ever progressing era of modern technology.
