Sundance Drafting & Design (also known as NeedAHousePlan.com) provides custom drafting services to customers looking to build their own homes. They have a wide range of pre-crafted designs which can be used as is or customized to give the home builder their dream home.
Sundance Drafting & Design needed a new, modern website that would provide a helpful experience for their customers. They came to us to help make their website vision a reality.
Content
Our content team worked closely with the team at Sundance Drafting to come up with a plan to move and create written content for the new website. They took the time to learn and understand the business and then started gathering the content.
Some of the content was pulled over from Sundance Drafting’s previous website, but our team took that and edited or expanded on the provided text as needed. Then they loaded and organized the content on the website to create the best flow for visitors.
Design
Our in-house designer spent a lot of time with our client to nail down the design that they wanted. We took their current logo and brand and applied it to the website, adding a secondary color scheme of blues that complemented the oranges in their logo.
Our designer customized the look and feel of the home page to feature new house plans in a creative and prominent way. The full-width slider allows users to see what their dream home could look like (with images provided by Sundance Drafting) and links to the house plan for more details. On each house plan page we also made sure to include a good layout for the extensive details of each plan.
Beyond this cool slider feature, we also customized the boxed sections of the home page to call attention to the various plans that Sundance Drafting offers.
And last on the design portion, but certainly not least, we workshopped the header of the site to include phone numbers that drop below the main navigation to call attention to them in a unique way.
Development
Our development team put together the functionality for Sundance Drafting’s search. This allows their customers to easily seek out a plan that fits in line with their dream home.
Customers can search by the exact plan number or choose to search by specific features to browse plans that meet their needs.
When a customer lands on any given house plan page, we’ve incorporated a share option for people to share the house plans they like with friends and family. Plus, we added the ability to flip the 3D rendering of the home to see what it looks like in a reflected view.
